March 24, 2014

I'm so sorry to hear about mack that breaks my heart and to tell me that psych is lame is very disapponting. but oh well i will still watch it when i get back. well this week has been one of the most loaded weeks of my mission. well we had changes last week and they i got my new companion his name is elder Gomez. im training again an he is from pachuca, and he is a great companion. im really excited to work with him. he played chess like almost professionally and so we play at night and he kills me but we have fun and get to talk about our lives and work in that time so i enjoy it. and we divided the area i was in and now i have san isidro san jose and el copal the golf course. i know its not why im here but i did find out i can golf there...:) also my new area is a little tough because i have to open it up pretty much. we have no investigators and knew like 3 less active families out here. but im stoked to get to work. i got assigned as dl over the missionaries in our branch and am looking forward to it but im not really sure what to do so im gonna have to hit the ground runnin..

this week i had some interesting experiences. first we were walking in the hill looking for inactive members. and some guys called us over and started asking us about the church and then they stole my tie it was a tragic loss and dont know how i will ever let it go. haha when we left after i gave the man my tie my companion and i laughed a lot on the way back to get a new one from the house.

right now my area is a little hard because we arent going to have a lot of success right off the bat but i know there are people to teach in my area that need our help and i felt the need to be more obedient so that heavenly father would protect us in our area. its not super dangerous dont worry but i know that that little extra protection we need will be here when we need it if we are obedient (I think that is some missionary code for "I'm a little nervous about this place",). i am so happy to hear how things are going there. you guys are a great family and i hope that you can keep up the good work in all of your areas. have a fantastic week and i love you all so much!

March 17, 2014

this week was a really wierd week. i had exchanges twice once with my zone leader and once with my district leader elder frica. it was alright. we worked decently well it was just a frustrating week because i always felt behind. we had the two divisiones and then a baptism interview this week. we finally got Dilan baptized. it was so good because i feel like him having to wait helped him to learn why it was important.

also dad we  have a family of investigators that has problems with the word of wisdom and one of the kids is really disrespectful to his parents do you have any ideas about how we could help them out. they have faced so many problems and are progressing really well with us they have a baptism date but still have a long way to go.

Im going to have changes tomorrow. i think im going to train again. I will let you know where i go next monday.

elder frica and i in divisions. this week really was a hard week we never got in a rythm to work really well we only had one good good day and im really excited for the opportunity i will have to work with a new missionary. I hope i do better on this one( not that i did bad on the first one but i hope i learn from the things we did.). but you know what my district leader told me the first kids always turn out a mess and after that the kids just keep getting better and better. I wasnt sure how to take it becase im one of the older kids but oh well... i love you guys so much and im sorry my letters this week arent that great i will have good stories to tell you guys next week. and i will send pics with my new comp and my new house!

Elder Bocanegro had to get two screws.

March 10, 2014

heeeey you guys!!!! I sure hope you have had a marvelous week because this last week was pretty good.i had a fun day today. so i will tell you about my monday first.

today. well it started with futbal and basketball in the morning. basketball was fun. and i can still dunk a soccerball on a 10 foot hoop off of cement so i dont feel to fat! then we played soccer too. i went for a ball and a columbian elder tried to jump my back leg i guess... i dont really know how it happened but i felt his leg hit mine he fell and broke his wrist.... but just a little he only needs a surgery to replace (repair?) the bone.. but it didnt break skin so it wasnt that bad... but yeah thats how my day started. then we went to the disneyland of mexico. its called tepito and its the 2nd biggest market, black (flea?) market in the world. i love that place i bought some new soccer shoes because my other ones got holes in them and the costed 20 dollars. and i got a watch for $150 yep im keeping up with cristian other that $150 aqui es como $14 alli... hahaha but seriously that place is so cool i can buy anything for super cheap. its like the internet but better! then we went to the hospital to visit elder bocanegra he has to stay overnight for the surgery. ya it was a bad deal.

yesterday we baptized a girl i feel so happy for her she has had a hard last few weeks and instead of asking why or doubting the things we taught she just got ready faster. and was so happy her aunts and her uncles were all crying. it was a good day. then in the night i went to cv with dylan it was great. he is doing better and is a little more focused in this weekend.

saturday. we had a good day. other than it was one of those days that we were running late to everything. i hate those days. but we worked hard and in the night we talked with one of the recent convert families about temples and ordinances. it was so great i think my favorite part of my mission is talking about eternal families and inviting people to prepare to go some day.In the night we went to eat tacos with an hermano de la capilla to eat tacos they we so good i ate 12... oh and i ate one of tripe. thats what the call intestines in a taco. it was pretty good just really chewy like rubber. but i managed to get it down.

friday. we had zone confrence. it was pretty good. we had to sit in a capacitation for 4 hours it was so long but it was really good i learned a lot of things i can apply in my area to help the work out. then we got home and ate went to an appointment and it rained on us pretty good. i love the rain here because the next day after in the morning the air is clear and you can see the city made me think a lot of an how rain is like repentance it cleanses us when we arent pure and makes us see clearer.

thursday we just worked hard andhad a good day and  wednesday and tuesday were the same. i have had a sweet week. and i am loving life i have changes in a week. tenemos cambios la proxima semana martes. y estoy muy feliz aqui solo muy consado hoy. tuvimos un dia loco. se que la iglesia es verdadera, el libro es azul y jesus es un mormon! jaja

March 3, 2014

indeed i have been gone for 8 months and it has been pretty sweet. not to say i dont miss you guys because i do a ton! but i have learned a lot out here in these past months. this week was a hard week for me to be motivated at first. i feel like we are just doing the same thing over and over with lessons and people. but i had some experiences that helped me get re focused

during the week we had a decent time teaching but i struggled to really feel the spirit when we taught but now were doing better.

saturday we went to eat with a family of less actives and one of the sons who is twenty two had a baptism date set for sunday (yesterday) and his mom came in and said guess what the shameless did now. he went and got drunk last night. i was super sad because this week we had awesome  lessons with him and i felt like he was really ready. but i think it helped me because i realized that to get the baptism we should work hardest in the end. since then i have been working hard and things are going great. but we have to post pone the baptism for two weeks.but after that it was just one of those days when if it could go wrong it did almost all of our lessons fell through and . when we finished the day i sat back and just sighed because i was stressed.

sunday- then came sunday and to start the day off we had some investigators come to church for the first time. i was sooo happy. the investigator that got drunk also came to church and it was good to see he still wanted to progress. and in sacrament meeting we had an unreal testimony meeting  one lady bore testimony of how her son had a ball under his tongue and how the first doctor said it was cancer and she was scared. she prayed and knew everything would be alright and felt peace later she found out that it wasnt cancer only a ball that had to be taken out. its amazing to see how far she has come because when we got here she was inactive. and now she has been at church the last 2 months. she is an amazing lady. then there was the testimony of Brother Barron and he shared a testimony about how when we made our covenants we didnt agree to follow rules because we can jump the rules and find ways that they dont apply but we did say we would do our best to fallow the commandments. and then came after church. we ate carnitas with drunks that was a little wild, dont worry we were smart about it they live in our street and always ask us about our rules and what we do. they are our friends and respect our rules so we like to them.  then we have carnival in our area not sure how to explain it other than marty graw and the boys dress up like girls underwear and all its crazy here right now and should be this way until tomorrow night. oh and we ate at kfc yesterday. it was a little tough because we went there and i looked at the hermana and said its sunday we shouldnt buy our food. she said well i dont have anything at home because i didnt have time to buy it yesterday. so we went in. i told her i didnt feel comfortable with it and that i wasnt going to eat and she got mad at me for not eating but i didnt feel good about it so i didnt. when we finished she said well i didnt know we couldnt buy food sundays so i wont do it anymore. it was tough but i dont regret it idk dad what do you think i should do in these situations?

i had a good day today we played soccer as a zone. and we went to wal mart. i am pretty happy with this p day. i hope you have a great week. you guys are awesome.

y jaxon jacob and savy gracias por sus cartas yo senti bien feliz cuando los recibi.
and d happy b day! your a stud keep being great!

we killed a bird during a lunch.... no not really i died. but it was so funny they asked us to bless it before it died and we said sure do you want one of $500 or $2000 the second one is more powerful. they looked at us funny and we said we cant bless your bird. if it dies its gods time for it to leave. they accepted it and we had a good laugh. and the other is candies that iyari gave us for valentines day i didnt eat them. ha  ha mexican candy with alcohol cant trick me now!
